Farmer-Ecologist. Practiced as a landscape-ecologist for 20 years (species assessments, habitat assessments, habitat restoration, landscape assessments, public enquiry expert witness on landscape and ecology, college lecturer, researcher – past member of the Chartered Institute of Ecologists and Environmental Managers, Member of the Landscape Institute etc), whilst also farming here at Peelham – we have been here 30 years. I have been and remain instrumental in the farm’s restoration from depleted all-arable and overgrazed pasture to increased habitat and biodiversity richness (Organic and Pasture-for-Life certified). I have been and remain instrumental in developing and implementing direct sales of meat from the farms livestock and establishing on-farm butchery and charcuterie facility (HR, PR, marketing, HACCP, recipe development, customer care etc etc).
