What is it?

Pasture & Profit in Protected Landscapes is a free, farmer‑led programme of on‑farm walks, hands‑on events and webinars, tailored for farmers working within the High Weald National Landscape. Running in partnership with Protected Landscapes, this programme shines a spotlight on the local experts pioneering nature‑friendly grazing practices right here in the High Weald.

Why join?

At Pasture for Life, we know there’s nothing more powerful than learning from your fellow farmers. Across the UK, participating farmers have opened their gates to reveal how their low‑input grazing systems - whether mob grazing, rotational grazing or conservation grazing - are helping them:

  • Reduce fertiliser, feed and fuel costs
  • Boost resilience against flooding, drought and extreme weather
  • Multiply biodiversity, from wildflowers to pollinators
  • Improve soil health, pasture quality and overall landscape management
  • Cut out extra workloads tied to indoor housing
  • Reduce worm burden naturally on their flocks and herds
  • Increase profit margins while farming more sustainably in a protected landscape

What's on?

We are running a series of events, such as:

  • Farmer‑hosted walks showcasing nature‑friendly grazing in action
  • Interactive webinars on grazing practice, soil management, and agroecology
  • Training sessions focused on soil health, carbon capture, biodiversity and integrating livestock
  • Peer discussion groups to share experience and co‑create solutions for the unique challenges of farming in the High Weald

Be part of a growing community of High Weald farmers embracing regenerative pasture-based farming that deliver both nature and profit.
