Mob grazing Lincoln Reds
Simon Herring and Darren Becskehazy welcomed East Midlands PfL members and guests to a fantastic tour of Herring Farm last week. The event was fully booked despite the promise of rain, but the sun shone and a great afternoon was had by all. We saw some fantastic examples of adaptive grazing with various groups of breeding groups and some impressive youngstock looking very well on their pasture only diets. We got a good look at some herbal leys at various stages of growth and regrowth after grazing. It was great to have members of the Lincoln Red Cattle Society coming along to see how our county breed really can thrive on a purely pasture diet.
