Greetings from Freetown, Sierra Leone

Back in Freetown, Mambud sends greetings and thanks both for the welcome during his visit and for the interest that you have showed in “Farming on Crutches” and the young amputee footballers and farmers that they serve – seen above welcoming him home in his Groundswell kit after his trip.

And below, fully branded in Pasture for Life, he is in his lush vegetable garden – which is looking good despite the 2.75 metres of rain that falls in the six-month rainy season. Work now begins to translate the lessons learned into practice on the training farm, starting with a small layer enterprise that will produce not only eggs but also the manure that is central to the production of Bokashi.
