Lymburghs Farm

Lymburghs Farm

Jim and Gilla Primrose in partnership with Jim's parents Iain and Roberta farm 175 organic acres in the Blackmore Vale, Dorset.

We farm a herd of pedigree Red Ruby Devon suckler cows and followers producing pedigree breeding cattle and 100% pasture finished beef and buy in Wiltshire Horn and Exlana Easycare sheep producing 100% pasture finished hogget and mutton. The land is all permanent pasture with 100 acres in Environmental Stewardship wildflower hay meadow and winter flood meadow restoration.

Lymburghs Farm organic beef, hogget and mutton is available fresh or frozen by the joint/cut or in approx. 10kg freezer boxes of mixed joints/cuts.

Customers are encouraged to visit the farm to see the livestock and wildlife and choose their purchase or collect their order.

Alternatively, orders may be delivered by arrangement. Slaughter and butchery are performed by certified organic businesses in Dorset. Beef is matured for 21-28 days and hogget/mutton for 7-14 days for tenderness and flavour.

Whole and half carcasses are also available for butchers, farm shops or catering events at liveweight or deadweight prices.

We are a WWOOF UK Host farm with self-catering accommodation in an attached static caravan or camping on the farm. WWOOF work includes helping with daily livestock and vegetable garden duties, also countryside management including hedge, pond, orchard and barn restoration, woodland management and firewood production, stock fencing and educational access visits.

We welcome farm visits by arrangement from local families and tourists, farm discussion groups and charitable organisations as well as schools/colleges and plan to develop a camping barn and outdoor education centre in our oak-framed barn.
