Heather has more than 30 years experience working at Waitrose and has recently retired from the role of Director of Buying (Meat, Poultry, Fish, Dairy & Frozen Food) and Agriculture Strategy, a portfolio worth in excess of £1.5 billion and a role she held for 10 years.
A farmer’s daughter and graduate of Harper Adams University in Agri-Business and Food Marketing, Heather began her career in Waitrose on the shop floor and joined the Meat Buying Office a year later.
Having pioneered a number of initiatives within the retail sector, she brings experience of working with producer groups to raise standards of animal welfare and in developing partnerships with research institutions and key industry bodies.

During my career, I have gained particular insight into the demands of the UK food retail sector, challenges and opportunities of supplying a major multiple and developing new markets.
